Title: HISTORICAL MAPS OF THE VENTURA RIVER DELTA
Caption: (c) In 1989, around the time the RV park was built, the original 1855 channel was still active as one of the major distributaries. A levee had been built on the east side of the delta to protect San Buenaventura. In the 1992 flood (arrows), the levee and earthen fill elevating the railroad and U.S. 101 acted as dams to widen the extent of flooding on the delta. (From Keller, E. A., and Capelli, M H. 1992.
