Title: HOW A HYDROGRAPH IS PRODUCED
Caption: To make a hydrograph of a flood, a recording gauge (a) is installed to obtain a continuous record of the water level, or stage. This record is then used to produce a stage-time graph (b). Before the flood, field measurements at various flows are used to produce a stage-discharge graph (c). Graphs (b) and (c) are then combined to make the final flood hydrograph (d).
