Title: COMPUTER STORM-SURGE MODEL FOR FEMA EXERCISE ONE YEAR BEFORE HURRICANE KATRINA
Caption: Scientists and engineers at the Louisiana State University Center for the Study of Public Health Impacts of Hurricanes used the ADCIRC computer model to produce this map of storm surge flooding depths for "Hurricane Pam," a week-long FEMA disaster exercise. The exercise was conducted one year before Hurricane Katrina. Red to orange colors indicate a storm surge of 4.3 to 5.2 m (14 to 17 ft.), and light green indicates a surge of around 3.4 m (11 ft.).
