| Title: | THE PINEAPPLE EXPRESS FEEDS MOISTURE TO WEST COAST EXTRATROPICAL CYCLONE |
| Caption: | In this image the Pineapple Express, a stream of warm moist air carried along by a southern branch of the polar jet stream, feeds an extratropical cyclone in the Pacific Ocean. Storms following this stream of tropical air hit the West Coast causing coastal erosion, flooding, and landslides. This color-enhanced infrared image was taken by the NOAA GOES-9 satellite.
